Dan is by no means a realistic character. No part of him should garner the amount of attention he receives from the opposite sex, however random and infrequent it may be. He is so ridiculously naïve about EVERYTHING that the occasional woman will find his innocence desirable, deeming him "cute". For that, he should be very, very, thankful.
